I was born and raised in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Â I grew up in a typical small town way manner spending my time fishing, hunting and swimming. Â I attended St. Olaf College and studied philosophy. Â When I decided to study art I transferred to the University of Minnesota and earned a BFA in sculpture. Â I moved to Los Angeles and earned a MFA in sculpture at the University of Southern California. Â I lived in Los Angeles for a decade working for museums and galleries. Â Since moving back to Minnesota I have been working to develop cast iron as a sculptural medium.
