Visit the School of Fine Arts
We encourage prospective students and families to visit us. Explore our performance, exhibition, and lab spaces, and meet our faculty and staff!
1. If you haven’t already, we recommend a general UMD Campus Visit as the first step. Campus visit programs generally include a presentation from an admission representative and a campus tour from a student volunteer. Tours are available most weekdays during the academic year and summer months. Availability of tours during UMD breaks will vary.
2. Once your general tour has been scheduled (or if you’ve previously visited campus and now want a specific visit with the School of Fine Arts), contact UMD Admissions at 1-800-232-1339 about your interest in touring a specific department. Appointments are subject to availability, but we will do our best to schedule some time for you with our SFA Academic Advisor, as well as faculty and students if possible. There will be time for general academic and admission-related questions, as well as a tour of the department and related facilities.
Prospective students and families are encouraged to get a close-up view of the School of Fine Arts’ creative Facilities, see student visual arts on display, and attend a Music or Theatre performance “on the house” as part of a special SFA visit arranged as indicated above.
