Olga Chernyshev received a Masters degree in music from St.Petersburg (Leningrad) Conservatory, and a Bachelors degree in music from the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music in St.Petersburg. She also has a Certificate of music (with honors) from Leningrad Music Academy.
For many years she taught violin in St.Petersburg and Petrozavodsk, Russia, where she received awards from the federal offices of culture and arts. She performed on television and radio programs in St.Petersburg and Karelia. Since she moved to Duluth, Olga has become a member of the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra and the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra. She also performs with the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra, Itasca Symphony, UMD Festival Orchestra, LOON Opera Orchestra, and she plays chamber music in the region as well. Olga has performed In Russia ,Finland , France and USA as a soloist with her husband, pianist Dr. Alexander Chernyshev. She teaches violin at UMD Fine Arts Academy and privately.
