Thirty+ years multifaceted experience in corporate and public sector design. Career experience includes design consultant, project manager, project designer, art director, automotive exterior graphics, corporate identity, urban planning, presentation graphics, environmental graphic design, package design, photography, illustration as well as other activities in the design profession.

Thirty years university level teaching experience, curriculum planning and development, including graduate level graphic design seminar and studio, introductory through senior level undergraduate graphic design studio, typography, illustration, history of graphic design, and design foundations. Professor, tenured UMD 1998, currently serving as Graphic Design Area Head. Completed BS and MA in Design/Visual Communication 1981 and 1988. Completed doctoral coursework in Design with minor in Studio Arts 1996.

Award winning Design Consultant for small business including brand development. Multiple awards from AAF including a National ADDY for Museum Exhibition Catalog Tweed Museum of Art, Judges Row Award for small business promotional package, several additional Gold ADDYs and Awards of Excellence in print collateral. Designed several national level automotive exterior graphic design programs for OEM manufacturers in Detroit and Japan. Designed and innovated computer generated imaging for vehicle graphics. Private and public gallery and museum exhibitions of automotive graphics, graphic design, drawing, digital art, printmaking, fiber arts, alternative photographic processes and installations. These exhibitions include solo, group, juried and invitational, occurring locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
