As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A Zoologist

What major[s]/minor[s] did you graduate with?
Graphic Design, BFA with Art Minor & German, BA

Where do you live these days?
New York, NY

Where do you work? What kind of work do you do?
I work at Fordham University and oversee a creative team that develops innovative materials for our brand to reach prospective students.

How are you involved with the arts in your current community?
I freelance for local organizations, attend Broadway shows and local artist gallery openings. The art museums here are fantastic and offer a wide variety of exhibits.

What was your favorite class or project in college?
I really enjoyed my Senior Design Studio and Painting classes.

How did SFA professors influence you?
They were bold creators working hard to make their work stand above their peers. I was always inspired when they talked about awards they had won.

What advice would you give to a incoming Art & Design student?
Art & Design - There are endless opportunities for creatives in this world. Congratulations on pursuing your passion, you will never regret it!

What was your favorite local Duluth hangout in college?
Bagley Nature Center

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you since graduating from UMD SFA?
I have worked with celebrities, at fashion week, explored the world and moved to NYC all because I followed my heart. I followed it to Duluth and beyond that it has led me to be continuously inspired by my creative.

What was your biggest takeaway from UMD SFA?
Our education is far different from many other schools. Embrace the curriculum and know the layering techniques from painting are going to make your illustrative design work next caliber.

How did you make the decision to attend UMD for school?
Stacy Crawford was a huge influence. If it weren't for her I might not be where I am today.
