Annual Student Exhibition Events

  • Sunday, April 28 – Closing Reception | Tweed Museum of Art | 3-5 pm

Student designed website for the 18–19 Annual Student Exhibition 

Students who have taken an Art & Design course in 2018-2019 entered up to three pieces of artwork to be juried for the Annual Student Exhibition. The juried artworks chosen are installed as the best of UMD Art and Design student work. Jurors for the 2019 show were Melanie Walby, Design Director of Pollen in Minneapolis and Chris Monroe, artist, illustrator and author of many children’s books, based in Duluth.

The full design of the Annual Student Exhibition starts with a poster contest. Once the winning poster was chosen, students of Jennifer Gordon's Graphic Design 3 course visualized and presented concepts building off the poster that brand and promote the exhibition. Designs from all student groups were chosen and finalized and used for promotion, exhibition signage and the following exhibition website:
