The School of Fine Arts is made up of seven departments. 

Department of Art and Design
A creative life grows out of inquiry, is nurtured through diversity, and strives to engage the world, reinventing and renewing itself over time. At the Department of Art and Design we understand the creative life. We aim to stimulate and provoke students as independent thinkers and creators who explore various media and methods, under the mentorship of distinguished faculty.

Department of Music
A professional atmosphere, nurturing mentors, exciting and varied performance opportunities. And at the center of it all . . . the music that drives you.
The Department of Music provides students with the highest quality musical instruction, preparing them for careers in performance, composition, and education.

Department of Theatre
The Department of Theatre invites students with a passion for the performing arts to join its academically and artistically rigorous program. Offering degree programs for both the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), the department encourages students to choose the path that best suits their individual aspirations and talents.

Fine Arts Academy
A professional unit within SFA, the Fine Arts Academy offers high quality arts instruction to students ranging from infants to adults, and encompassing every skill level.

Tweed Museum of Art
The Tweed Museum of Art is an art collecting and teaching institution that promotes learning through collection stewardship, research, and by presenting programs in the visual arts for the engagement of the University and surrounding communities. With a permanent collection of over 8,000 art objects representing a range of cultures and periods of art history, the Tweed is a major cultural and educational resource for the Upper Midwest.

Viz Lab | MMAD Lab

The Visualization and Digital Imaging Lab (Viz Lab) is an interdisciplinary research lab that focuses on the emerging visual technologies and techniques. The Viz Lab is currently exploring data visualization, 3D printing, and new applications for state-of-the-art projection.

The Motion and Media Across Disciplines Lab (MMAD Lab), which opened in 2014, is a 3D motion capture and high definition video production studio that offers unique opportunities for interdisciplinary research and creative activity, including ergonomic design, gait analysis, virtual reality,and the latest innovative techniques in video production and sound engineering.
